Vaccination passport? Spain will register people who refuse to vaccinate against COVID-19
The Spanish Minister of Health also assured that the registry could be shared with the rest of the European Union. Different technology companies are already developing applications that create a “digital registry” of coronavirus.
The health minister of Spain assured that the country will create a vaccination registry that will include those who refuse to accept the inoculation against COVID-19, delivering a document that could potentially be shared by other countries of the European Union (EU) .
Days after European countries began to apply the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine , Salvador Illa assured that those who reject the drug for “any reason” will be documented.
“We will have a record, which we will also share with our European colleagues. The document will not be public and will be with the utmost respect for the legislation that protects privacy, “Illa assured La Sexta .
The European Commission did not immediately respond to questions about whether this register will reflect a widely applied EU initiative, or what role Brussels could play in sharing this information.
“The information is collected with the purpose of identifying why someone was not vaccinated, either due to a personal decision, a system failure or that the person was not given an appointment ,” official sources assured, as reported by The Guardian .
Vaccination passport
According to CNN reports , several companies have begun to develop applications for smartphones, in which people could create a kind of digital credential that would later be mandatory to show at the entrance of concerts, sporting events and even when entering other countries.
One such initiative would be Common Pass, developed by Common Trust Networks and the World Economic Forum. The application allows you to upload data such as the results of PCR tests and hospital vaccination certificates, creating a QR code that can be shown to the authorities, without revealing confidential information.
When traveling, the app would list the health requirements at the exit and entry points of the countries.
Finally, IBM would have developed another similar application called Digital Health Pass, which would allow different establishments and companies to customize the health requirements to be able to enter them.
